Procedure for Plasma Cutting

After you have completed the vector line drawing you must load the .plt (HPGL Plotter File) file into
Cut n’ Command the Plasma cutting software.
File – Open (Find your file)
The vector drawing should appear on the screen after a moment.
You want the outside lines to cut last so under Edit – Edit Plot
You can up – down arrow scroll through the various line objects
Double click each item to place it into the new window below, start with the interior items then finally the exterior lines.
Stay in the Edit Plot menu and under the Tools drop-down pick Process Reorder.
Exit the Edit menu.
Save as a .tmd file.
Now before burning, do a dry run to establish if the material is situated correctly.
Switch the Plasma unit off by the small Torch Status lever stitch on the front panel.
With the cursor keys (Up – Down is the + - key) move the cutter head to the lower left of where you would like it to start.
Although you have set the interior details to cut first when doing a dry run it’s quicker to run the exterior lines first so under the Edit menu say Reverse Cut Order (remember to re-reverse it after you have done the dry run.
Cut speed depends on material thickness but for the #18 Gauge (.050”) material we have in stock use around 188 inchs/min
Arc Voltage set to about 75
Make sure the Auto Peirce Height and the Auto Height Control boxes are checked.
Initial Pierce Height should be 0.15 and the Arc Voltage should be about 75
